Kirsten Muenzberg was originally born in Windsor, Ontario and moved to Toronto in 1980 to pursue her love of fashion and art.She is a graduate of Ryerson University and later continuedher studies at OCAD. “As an artist I resist the obligation to record an exact image and present my own interpretation of form and shape. By working mainly from observation and memory I allow myself the freedom to let go of reality and paint with careless emotion”
By simultaneously constructing and deconstructing she allows each work to resolve at different levels of abstraction. She creates modern landscapes that connect the observer with nature, but also convey a sense of time and place.
