Mr. Chang’s respect for the law of nature is revealed in his approach to a piece of new work without a fixed design. “I start working on the material by emptying my mind of distraction, and eventually I find the right form, or the form finds itself in the right piece of material…” All of his finished works come into being through the same long process of persistent physical labour and continuous spiritual quest for harmony between man and nature.
