CHRISTOPHER ESTRIDGE

Christopher Estridge’s abstraction pulls the best elements from the lexicon of the 20th century painting styles. His gouache works on both paper and canvas play on the exciting tension between Abstract Expressionist-style gesture and hard line geometry indicative of Colour Field and Minimalist works. His brilliant Pop Art, high key palette, lends the work its contemporary immediacy. He attended the Parsons” School of Design in New York and has had solo exhibitions in Toronto, New York, Los Angeles, South Beach and Palm Springs. Christopher passed away in February of 2010.
